AUS 0-1 CRO ; GER 2-0 POL

Austria tried their best to get back into the game but if you watched the match, you can understand why Austria can never score a goal. All of them were banking on crosses, and their crosses all fall short or went over, how do they expect to score a goal? Croatia probably under-estimated the Austrians and were lucky to have that penalty which turned out to be the only goal of the game. Croatia should buck up in the next game, but things have changed and they might even lose to Germany if they continue to play the way they did yesterday.

Germany and Poland was a pretty tough encounter. While many expected Germany to walk over their opponents, it was clear that Poland had played superbly. Unfortunately, the Poles did not take their chances. Germany did, and from 10 shots, 2 hit the back of the net. Podolski scored in either half as he capped on a fine performance to lead the Germans to a 2-0 victory. Top of the group for Germany with Croatia 2nd. Unfortunate Poland is now last, but I am expecting them to put up a better show in their next match...

With Raúl left out, how far will Spain go?
